CrowdMood

Oil tightness, the 10-year, and the household.

The Iran war premium is a freight and insurance number, not a cable-news emotion

CrowdMood will keep an Iran/energy column on the rotation because the physical market can reprice in a week and the equity market can sleep until it cannot. The method is boring on purpose. Ask: are loadings delayed? Is war-risk insurance bid? Is the front of Brent/WTI in a panic backwardation that product cracks also confirm? Are product stocks at the consuming end actually tight, or is it only a Twitter map with arrows?

Strait risk is a bottleneck, not a morality play

A large share of seaborne crude that matters for Asia still has to pass a narrow place. You do not need a Hollywood blockade. You need enough harassment that captains wait, insurers reprice, and a few VLCCs take the long way. Days of delay are barrels that arrive later into an already oil-tight desk view. That is additive to depletion. It is not a substitute story.

How we will write these pieces

Each energy note should name the physical tell, name what would falsify the scare, and link back to Trident’s crude prong. If that prong is stretched into a blow-off while freight is quiet, fade the speech. If freight is screaming and Trident has not yet turned, the tape is late, not wrong. That is how a reader gets a reason to come back: the next note is a check on the last one, not a new religion.

We are not a wire service. We will not publish a “war starts” push alert for clicks. We will publish whether the barrel moved.

Notes and charts on this site are research, not a recommendation to buy or sell anything. If you trade, that decision is yours.
